Season 2 Introduction

Jason Thomas Welcome to season two. For those who don't know, I'm Jason and I've worked in finance roles at multiple tech companies.

Liz Melton And I'm Liz, I started out in consulting and have also worked at a few other tech companies. Our podcast specifically focuses on founders of early stage companies.

Jason Thomas We think the story at the start of the founder journey is rarely told, but extremely valuable. Our interviews are a little less refined, but super authentic and full of insightful advice from entrepreneurs pursuing their dream.

Liz Melton We launched season one with the goal of getting this little side project off the ground. We focused on tactical operations, which ended up being slightly more complicated than we anticipated. Interviewing in a podcast setting is a little awkward at first, but it's something we've been focused on improving.

Jason Thomas We've actually learned a lot about ourselves and building a brand through this process. For instance, I realized that I'm not as articulate as I would like to be and I'm a little sporadic in my thought process when I'm communicating.

Liz Melton Well, I think that makes for a more genuine episode.

Jason Thomas I totally agree, but there's probably a good balance I could find so definitely working on that.

Liz Melton That's true. I also think it's really difficult to listen to our interviewees think of insightful commentary and still be ready to ask more questions. It sounds simple, but it's been really challenging for me. Also, marketing is definitely an art and a science and so this season, we'll be focusing on more social media and listener outreach, sharing our podcast with your friends and giving it a rating and review would help us tremendously. Season 2 is also filled with inspiring entrepreneurs from various industries, spanning medical device technology, micro mobility, e commerce, FinTech, AI, and we are working to interview founders for season 2, please let us know if you or someone you know is interested in participating, and we'd love to have a conversation with them.

Jason Thomas Check in next week for our first episode with a fitness startup that was planning on launching right before COVID and is now working on alternative ways to deliver their product.
